Christmas is Homecoming"

As we celebrate the Holidays this December, let us contemplate on the real meaning of Christmas.

Christmas is going back to one's home. It is going back to the Father. Some people avoid coming home to the Lord for they have failures, insecurities, etc. Some of us don’t even know how to come back to the Lord for we don't know Him, we don’t connect with Him through prayer, and we do not read the Bible.

Jesus told a parable about lost things, the parable of the lost son, the lost sheep and the lost coin. Focusing on the third one, a woman lost a coin and she looked for it all over her house. The reason why she did so was because that coin was important to her.

The coin symbolises us. A coin doesn't know that it is lost, at the same time, we usually don't know we are lost. This is because we are so occupied with what the world has to offer that we don’t know that we are missing the most important thing in our lives, a relationship to God.

We may have lost a lot of things: integrity, innocence, etc. We cannot regain those things, and that fact usually discourages us from going back to God. Nevertheless, we need to keep in mind that it is only God who can help us regain what we have lost. After all, Jesus came here to look for those who are lost, and with God, all things are possible.

Matt 11:28-30 (Message Bible) “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

God's plan for you is to stay close to Him. He wants us to remain at His side for He loves us that much.

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 "17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation”

Eph 2:4-5 "4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved."

The reason why there is Christmas is because we are all dead in sin, we needed a perfect saviour to save us.

2 Cor 9:15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

JESUS was the best gift God has given us.

Romans 8:39 "Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (KJV)
